The Machacala Project is a hard rock property located in the District of Carabamba, province of Julcan, La Libertad region in northern Peru. It sits an elevation of 3,300 meters (almost 11,000 ft) above sea level. The property contains 966 hectares comprised of 18 contiguous concessions. It is approximately 177 km (110 mi.) southeast of the city of Trujillo, the capital of the La Libertad region, and 574 km (356 mi.) from Lima, the country’s capital city.
The La Libertad region is one of the largest gold and silver producing areas in both Peru and the world. It is the home of such mines as Yanacocha, which sits 42 km (26 mi.) east of the coastal city of Trujillo in northern Peru, and is producing millions of gold ounces annually.
